Bright Cozy Kensington Market Room

A great place to stay in downtown Toronto - not in a fancy condo building, but a unique one-of-a-kind newly-built apartment in the heart of Kensington Market.  The private mediterranean-style gated alley leads to the entrance up the outdoor staircase.   The apartment itself is a charming oasis tucked away from the hustle + bustle of one of Toronto's most eclectic shopping and eating destinations, a pleasant surprise to me when I first discovered it.

Your private quarters consists of cozy, bright bedroom that overlooks the cafe next door.  Although it has fit 3 people (the listed maximum), this really only works if one is a small child or adult who doesn't mind sleeping on a slim cusion-mattress by the double bed, which is the main sleeping surface (and can comfortably accommodate 2 adults).  The custom-made wood bed-frame is probably the selling feature, as well as the tree view from the window (rare for the Market!).

You're welcome to use the eat-in kitchen to store or prepare vegetarian food, and make use of laundry or WIFI as needed. You'll find all the fixings for a great herbal tea and I'd be happy to help you find anything else you might need.


The location:

In heart of Kensington Market, the apartment is on Baldwin Street between Augusta and Kensington Avenue, bordered by (and super-close to) 4 major streetcar lines (Spadina, Bathurst, College, and Dundas). It's walking distance to all the other most visit-worthy neighbourhoods in Toronto: Chinatown, Queen West and College Street/Little Italy, as well as skipping distance to Bellevue Park, where fire spinners can be found doing their thing at night (especially after dark on Tuesdays).  Alexandra Park is a 5  minute walk away, and boasts a community centre with great outdoor and indoor swimming pools).

TTC transit is easily accessible, with 4 major streetcar lines, all of which lead to subway lines, a 2-minute walk away.

The apartment is queer/friendly and open to hosting considerate guests of any nationality, sexual orientation, etc., who are willing to respect the home and "house rules" (including not smoking tobacco indoors, eating/preparing meat at home, or making excessive noise). We will try to make accommodations for your comfort and abilities where possible, but for those with mobility issues, please note that our apartment is on the 2nd story and accessed via an outdoor staircase.
