Private 3rd floor bedroom with twin bed in a large, detached newly renovated century home with a beautiful backyard and new patio.

You don't need to worry about anything while you are here except for enjoying the city and finding good things to eat. Your rate includes:

-linens, blankets, towels, handsoap,
-wifi & apple TV
-washer/dryer, laundry detergent
-two shared washrooms
-shared and very well-equipped kitchen with all appliances - we even have an ice-cream maker!

Guest Access

Guests will have access to all of the common spaces in our home - kitchen, dining and living room areas, 2 bathrooms, front porch, beautiful back garden/bbq. We just ask that you treat the space as you would your own.

Interaction with Guests

We are a pretty swell family of four - artists and travellers ourselves - and we love welcoming new people into our home! We are also pretty resourceful - just ask us and we can try to help!
We both work from home and spend a lot of time cooking and enjoying family time in our home. As a guest, you are welcome to join us for movie nights, walks to the park, a glass of wine in the back garden. Our 6 year old gal is very social and loves to colour and play cards with guests. Our 2 year old likes to say hi and wander around.

At the same time, many of our guests just do their own thing, exploring the city, studying in their rooms - and we are okay with that too!

It is a great neighbourhood with tons of shopping, parks, art galleries, cafes, and restaurants; nearby farmers market, along with local Asian, African and Latin American grocery, and a bulk food store. Literally steps to Dufferin subway station, it is one of the most multicultural neighbourhoods in the city.

From our house you can walk ten minutes south to a Latin dinner club, Lula Lounge, with live world music most nights and a live salsa orchestra on the weekends. Or you could walk east to an excellent Ethiopian restaurant where dinner for two costs less than $15 (we have no idea how she does it!). Further east is Korea town with karaoke and amazing food. And at the end of our street and heading west along Bloor there has been an explosion of new, hip bars and restaurants - like Ortolan, with its extensive wine and beer menu and tasty dishes with entrees and sides sold separately so that you can mix n match. Or the recently opened Karelia Kitchen that specializes in Scandanavian cuisine. If you're a coffee drinker you'll be in heaven - there's about ten cafes within a two minute walk of our house. In addition, with the subway so close you can get to the Royal Ontario Museum in less than 15 minutes, switch trains and head south to the Art Gallery of Ontario in under half an hour, or go shopping at the Eaton Centre or Yorkdale in 30 minutes.
