Rental Details
Bermondsey square ... In the heart of of London Bridge and Tower Bridge, more precisely the most trendy Bermondsey street, you will be on the South bank of the Thames mid way between Bond street and Shoreditch in a modern flat full of light with 24/7 concierge
----THE SPACE You will have in your bedroom a real double bed with brand new mattress, a thick carpet for the cold weather of the city, wardrobe and a desk if you need to work. The bathroom is privately yours, provided with towels. There is a big common space kitchen/ living room and dining room, opening on a big terrace on the park.
The kitchen is fully equipped as I am myself a busy cook (good cook would be pretentious but my friends have their habits on my menu) and authentic fool wooden floors.
The LIVING ROOM corner is cozy and busy with books, many in French but also in English and other. There is a intriguing book on London history that I didn’t read yet but you are welcome to precede me in having a look ;-). Sorry to let you know I don’t have TV but WIFI is unlimited- so in the very improbable case you are bored please be my guest.
----TRANSPORTS The flat is highly connected- in addition to the Jubilee and Northern lines, just down the flat you have 4 bus stations connecting you to all parts of London/ Waterloo, Tate, Bond street, Shoreditch, Piccadily, Chelsea, Hyde Park…
---- THE NEIGHBERHOOD If you have time for theatre, there are the Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, the Old and Young Vic Theatres, the National Theatre and the BFI. If needed, at the ground floor of the building , we have the Shortwave Arthouse cinema with projection room and coffee/bar and local community life. You will also see a very busy moroccan restaurant and bar.
The couscous is Moroccan, not Libyan nor Tunisian, just Moroccan… They are open since early in the morning for breakfast through lunch with take away or eat-in and diner. Having lived for years in Belgium, I have very high expectations on food, bread and pastries and I can confirm the food is to my standards amazing, totally fresh and balanced.
I buy there my bread and cakes that are delicious… but also imported jam, olive oil… On Fridays there is an antique market on the square, with a fancy mixed crowd. Don’t forget to visit the Borough food market which is amazing to have drinks and snacks, with organic fresh farmers’ food.
To go out, the area, including the Thames bank is a endless flow of bars, pubs, restaurants between Tower Bridge and Waterloo, so let me know which style you prefer and I can make suggestions.
