Rental Details
This old Chicago apartment has a quirky, colorful charm. The decor resembles something from Beetlejuice mixed with a little Leave it to Beaver kitsch.
Mere blocks from us are delicious restaurants, coffee shops, vegan eats, salons, trendy bars with photo booths, pool tables and craft cocktails. Let’s not forget the classic dive bars, homey diners, outdoor patios you can still smoke in and friendly 4AM dive bars for the adventurous. It is all here. Only a 6 minute bus ride (20 minute walk) to Wicker Park’s famous (Six Corners) for more bars, clubs, music and street fest, restaurants and debauchery. Your trip is as classy as you want make it, choose your own adventure! We'd be happy to give you recommendations for things to do, places to eat, things to see.
We are near many street and musical summer fests (Riot Fest, Pitchfork, North Coast, West Fest, DoDivision etc) as well.
Hop on the bus only 2 blocks away to downtown to get some culture, visit museums, see the sites, shop til you drop, or catch a sporting event. We are also only 2 blocks from a Divvy bike station so you should bring a helmet if you feel so inclined.
This two bedroom apartment has two bathrooms as well (one for you and one for us), a living room, dining room, art room, office, large kitchen, back enclosed porch, backyard with patio, free laundry in eerie basement, and a free parking spot in the garage. Free WIFI is supplied of course.
Your cozy room can sleep two people. The room has an individual mini heater or a/c window unit depending on the season, so you can control your own comfortable temperature. There will be fresh towels and bedding for you to use. Additionally, our place has a door that can separate the apartment in half for your own personal living and dining room as well.
We work from home so we are around during the day. I am a self-employed artist and my boyfriend, Michael is in web design. We are a very sociable couple so if you want to share a meal or have a couple drinks together we are more than happy to oblige. However, if you are looking for some privacy the apartment is large enough to leave you to your own devices.
We have a nine year old boxer dog, Payton, named after Walter Payton from the Bears...NOT Manning so don’t even ask. We also have one adult cat. You will never see Kitty because, well, life scares her.
Are you a night owl or do you just want to stay in and marathon some Netflix? No problem! Pop up some popcorn and snuggle up on the couch while you watch your flicks on a 8’ projector screen with surround sound.
In the summer you can play bags in our alley, set up a backyard movie viewing on the projector screen, relax in our little backyard with a propane grill or barrel smoker and make some grub . We fully support grilling in the winter as well. Of course the kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans, utensils etc for you to make meals at the apartment if you wanted.
Our talented neighbor makes custom guitars and offers guitar lessons. Go ahead and try something new and ask about scheduling a lesson of your own while you are here.
