F.A.Q:
Is the area safe?- The neighborhood Dutch Kills is very safe, only 2 blocks from the N and Q subway station 2 stops from Lexington Ave in midtown Manhattan.
Is there any Parking?- There is plenty of street overnight parking, you can choose a meter right in front of the apartment where you pay $.25 per 15 min between Mon-Sat 9am-7pm or half a block away you can find free 24/7 parking with street cleaning rules on thursday and friday between 8.30-10am. I will add that it is quite hard to find any parking during a weekday business hours due to the fact that many commuters park in the area since its so close to Manhattan. There is also a parking garage right across the street where you can park for $10 per day.
Are you running any special rates?- The rental rate is actually way below the normal rates for a 1250sqft 3 bedroom apartment due to the fact that we are doing renovations below on the 1st floor converting it into a cafe. We are hoping to open the cafe in late October 2012.
Do you accept credit cards?- Roomorama takes care of the whole reservation process and they accept all mayor credit cards.
How do we get there from JFK Airport?- Its very easy to get here from JFK, just take the airtrain to the Jamaica station Switch to the E train and take that to Queens plaza stop and walk 3 blocks north following 29th Street to the corner of 39th ave where the apartment is.
Is there an elevator in the building? Im so sorry there is no elevator. The apartment is on the second floor one flight up.
How many bedrooms is there in the apartment? There are 3 large bedrooms. There are a total of 4 double beds, 1 bed-sofa and then a regular sofa in the living-room. There should be plenty of space for your whole group/family.
How is the area around the apartment? This area is called Dutch Kills and its a a small neighborhood right in between Astoria and Long Island City to very popular destinations for cafe's and restaurants. We have 3 very famous galleries with in a walking distance. Fisher Landau Center for Art, Flux Factory and PS1 which is part of the Modern Museum of Art (MoMa) Since this area is so close to Queensboro Bridge the main transportation hubb of Queens this has traditionally been a place for back businesses supplying Manhattan with bread, truffles, silk, etc but over the last 10 years artists have taken over these warehouse spaces and made them into work/live loft studios. Its a very interesting area and I think you will be very pleased. Best wishes, Steffan Olausson Partridge
