The building was built as a two-storey house in the first half of the 13th century as a part of the so-called Havel Town. Since 1802 the house is referred to as a three-storey building with three living units. The present-day appearance of the house dates back to 1839 when another storey and a classic facade were added by architect J.J. Frenzl. The building contains elements of a number of architectural styles, Rennaisance, Baroque, Classicism. Remnants of the mediaeval fortification of Prague were found in the rear wing of the house.
