It is in a quiet part of the countryside near Saxler. The numerous delightful Nordic-walking paths and cycle routes wind throughout the Eifel. They pass through many places of interest which are a must to visit. The Maare-Mosel cycle route starts on the doorstep of the holiday home. There are also many Maaren which are ancient volcano lakes. The Maar museum and the typically medieval village of Manderscheid are well worth a visit. As is the Vulkanhaus-Strohn which explains the origins of the Maare.
