Rental Details
Our goal is to provide many of the amenities of a resort hotel, while still offering a boutique experience that only a vacation rental can offer. Meet Blue Bonnet.
This home is a fully-modernized and restored 2-bedroom, 1-bath historic bungalow. It features 800 square feet of open, airy space, 6-ft windows, and tons of historic charm. Everything has been renovated. Brand new interior/exterior pain, brand new grout, furnishings and surveillance!
The bedrooms are both appointed with queen-sized beds, hotel-quality linens, and fluffy robes.
With high-ceilings and tons of natural light, the spacious, open-concept living area features an original built-in bar, dining area, an office area, and super-comfy chaise sofa bed.
Three web-enabled, HD, LED TVs make it easy to catch your favorite team on ESPN, watch a movie with the kids, or just relax in your room watching your favorite show. HULU, NETFLIX, Facebook...yup all there.
The fully-appointed kitchen offers everything you need to cook a fabulous dinner at home, including a 5-burner, stainless steel gas range, and a quiet Bosch dishwasher. Or heck, just walk across the street to Bite, Taco Haven or Bliss!
Enjoy a morning cup of organic coffee -- a few complimentary cups to get you started during your stay -- or a nightcap relaxing on your private backyard patio, or on your open front patio.
Travel with lighter suitcases for longer stays by taking advantage of our full-sized, front-load washer/dryer.
We are pet and family-friendly with a private, fenced yard, gas BBQ grill, and outdoor seating.
The entire house is yours, and our location puts Downtown San Antonio, the Riverwalk, the Alamo Dome, and convention center all within walking distance.
For your first night, we feature hotel-quality toiletries, a little organic coffee, dish soap, laundry detergent, fluffy robes, toilet paper, paper towels, a few local libations, a water purifier pitcher, and a few snacks -- all designed to make your stay more comfortable.
Parking is off-street for two cars.
The Lavaca Historic District itself is San Antonio's oldest registered historic neighborhood. According to the Office of Historic Preservation, it's "earliest settlers were carpenters, stonemasons, shopkeepers, clerks, tailors, bartenders, teamsters, and butchers; mostly of Germanic heritage, but also included those of Polish, Hispanic, and African American descent."
This neighborhood has maintained its cultural diversity, and is still home to many artists, architects, medical professionals, academics, stay-at-home parents, restaurateurs, sommeliers, small-business owners, etc.
The community is a wonderful place to live, and its residents embrace each other and socialize with fun gatherings of family and friends, and are always there when you need a hand.
Walk to the dog & kid-friendly "Friendly Spot," or "B & D Icehouse" for a craft beer and some excellent BBQ. We are also around the corner from Bite, Taco Haven, Bliss, and The Monterey for starters. A short walk will take you to our other favorites -- Stella Public House (incredible Naples-style pizza and craft beers), Halcyon Coffee House, Feast (excellent Sunday brunch, too), Beethoven (German Bier Garten), Tito's, Mad Hatter's, and Hot Joy.
The Pearl with its abundant shopping, restaurants and bars is just a few miles down the street, and is easily accessed by walking through downtown, bike or bus.
Our city just announced a $40million dollar investment into the Alamodome (1.8mi away) prior to the NCAA Final Four Game, is finishing the renovation of the brand new Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center (.6mi), and is creating 4 brand new parks in Hemisfair Park (.5mi away)...this is definitely the place to be!
A B-Cycle (bike sharing) station on the same block, offers an alternative to driving -- and is a fun way to see downtown, the historic missions, and tour the gorgeous architecture of the King William and Lavaca historic districts.
