Rental Details

Formerly a long, low traditional Cotswolds stone barn, Shipton is now a luxurious 3-bedroom cottage that is particularly well-suited to toddlers, since it is single-storey with no pesky stairs for little legs to deal with. It boasts it own car park adjacent to the entrance and a lovely bright open-plan living space with lounge, kitchen and dining room all overlooking the estate's pretty apple orchard's through the elegant French doors.

The elegant interiors are a clever mix of classic and contemporary with natural flooring in wood and stone, a high pitched ceiling with original wooden beams and a bright, neutral colour scheme. A corridor off the kitchen leads to the two twin-bedded rooms. The first has beautifully upholstered head boards and an elegant marble-lined shower room, whilst the second has two single four-poster beds - perfect for little princes or princesses-plus its own marble-lined en-suite shower room.

At the other end of the drawing room, with its stunning Scandinavian log burner is the double bedroom, which boasts its own impressive French metal four-poster and en-suite with bath and power shower over it. Doors from both the master bedroom and drawing room lead to the terrace and orchard in which your little ones can play safely in and an ideal spot for alfresco dining in the summer months or a relaxing glass of wine once the kids are safely tucked up in bed. In the beautifully landscaped communal gardens and grounds, facilities include tennis, croquet, swimming, gym and the Stables Spa offering all sorts of treatments and pampering, including massages, facials, manicures and pedicures. Our spa has been featured on Tatler’s 101 Best Spas in the world.

There is also a special play area for children with a mini-playground, two-storey Wendy house and a heated play cabin with dressing up clothes, toys, art materials and fantastic retro pedal cars and tractors. Bruern's central location makes it an excellent base for exploring The Cotswolds - Oxford is half an hour away, Stratford-upon-Avon and the Shakespeare National Theatre under an hour, and Cheltenham (racing and the annual Literary Festival) much the same.

There are lovely wildlife walks in the neighbouring Nature Reserve at Foxholes and along the Oxfordshire Way, which runs through Bruern. Bruern is also easy to get to by both train and car - Central London is just an hour and a half by either, and there are direct trains from there to Kingham station which is just 5 minutes drive away. It is also about the same distance from Birmingham and Bristol.
