Casa Azteca is a gorgeous Mexican influenced two-bedroom house for people who want to be able to walk into town, but be located somewhat out of the hustle and bustle of el Centro. Situated partway up the hill above the main Mercado, yet still within the boundaries of San Miguel's Historical Center, this sunny and bright charming house is constructed on three levels and offers all the amenities of a home away from home.
From the entryway, the ground floor level of the house features the master bedroom and its cozy sitting area with a fireplace, described by one of our guests as the most beautiful and comfortable bedrooms she has ever slept in. The queen size bed has a pillowtop mattress, fine sheets and comforters. A large walk-in closet is next door to the double-sink bathroom with its colorful tilework, polished cement counter tops and large bath- shower.
At the end of the entryway, framed by a beautiful arch is an oasis garden area with a large date palm and plants open to the sky, bringing lots of light into the master bedroom.
Up the staircase, you come to the main living floor of the house, complete with a second fireplace, flatscreen TV, a built-in DVD player and a CD player with iPod docking station. The well-outfitted kitchen with its polished cement counter tops and center island includes everything you will need for the most simplest meal to hosting the most elaborate dinner party. This then opens onto a sunny terrace with chairs and table along with a barbecue station. A dining area and half-bath are also on this level. This great room has wonderful light throughout the day, which is not all that common in most San Miguel homes.
One more level up and you find the second guest bedroom, as well as a sunny roof terrace with vistas across San Miguel's historic Centro toward the western sunset. Five of San Miguel's famous churches are visible from the terrace, but you may prefer simply to relax with a good book on the lounge chairs and enjoy the afternoon sun. This bedroom has another queen size bed, also with pillowtop mattress and fine bed linens, plus an en-suite bathroom.
The house rental includes the maid services of Angelica 3 times a week, wireless Internet connection for your own laptop, cable TV , and local Telmex phone service. A Vonage line is also included in the house, which guests can use for free calls back to the States.
Casa Azteca can comfortably sleep four but there is a self inflating mattress bed available at no extra charge that can accommodate two more people.
To rent and stay at Casa Azteca you must be 25 years old or older. Families with children of all ages are of course welcome.
