We have not compromised on restoring this beautiful historic building. Our attention to detail includes an impressive passageway of Baltic pine flooring, a stained glass archway leading to the beautifully decorated and furnished guest sitting room, dining room and bedrooms. Our gallery overlooks the bluestone paved central courtyard which is bordered with prolific iceberg roses.

Located an hour and a half from Melbourne and only 25 minutes from the Great Ocean Road and the gorgeous seaside town of Lorne, there are a range of attractions in Birregurra and nearby towns, including the stunning Otway Ranges and historic Colac.

Bromfield Room

B&B Birregurra

The historic and rustic Bromfield room was named after John Davenport Bromfield who built the homestead in 1865. This gorgeous rustic, air conditioned room overlooks a beautiful flowering plumbaga and a pomegranate - the ancient tree that looks glorious all year round - making this room a favourite with all guests.
Featuring exposed hand-made bricks, butt-jointed original Otway hardwood flooring with Turkish floor rugs, a Baltic pine coved ceiling, Japanese wood-block prints, antique brass and iron queen sized bed, this was the original homestead kitchen. The room has an open fireplace and still retains the original peel and bakers’ oven in the wall.

It is a warm and inviting bedroom with ensuite bathroom adjacent to the homestead’s central courtyard, perfect for relaxing on the comfortable couch in front of the open fire, which is wonderful throughout the winter months. Internet access and an in-room DVD player are available.
