The Amazon Shelter is a non-profit organization that has implemented a wildlife shelter called the Center for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation (CRCAS), located 11.2 km from the city of Puerto Maldonado. In a section of it's almost 10-hectare area, the Center hosts specimens rescued from illegal trafficking with the authorization of the Forestry and Wildlife General Directorate.
CRCAS accommodations include 7 bedrooms (with shared bathrooms) for the volunteers, a dining room, a kitchen and a living room for presentations. The Center also offers guided tours around the wildlife rescue and rehabilitation zone.
