Rental Details
The country house, formerly a watchtower belonging to the Middle Ages defence system, later transformed into a farm, is now a holiday home. It is surrounded by a 44 acres of farmland property, consisting of wood, fields, olive grove and a vineyard. The house was renovated in 1970. The interior has antique furniture and a total surface of 250 m2, on three floors.
The ground floor has two large rooms with a fireplace and a big kitchen (with a wood cooking stove), wash room, toilet and pantry. Next to the kitchen there is a rustic dining room (‘taverna’) with its wood stove, wood oven and a big fireplace for barbecuing;
The first floor has two double en suite rooms (single beds or double bed), each one with its own bathroom and wardrobe, and a study;
The second floor has two double bedrooms and one bathroom.
Outdoors there are two porticos and a tree-lined yard for a pleasant stay, whereas the surrounding woods offer the chance for relaxing walks among the green hills of Umbria.
The holiday home is located in Umbria, the green heart of Italy, 3 km away from Acquasparta (Terni), 15 minutes from Todi and the archaeological site of Carsulae, 30-45 minutes from Narni, Bevagna, Montefalco, Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto, Orvieto. Its location makes it an excellent departure point for natural itineraries towards Mount Martano (1074 m), Marmore Falls, Lake Trasimeno and Lake Piediluco, as well as for international music events such as the Spoleto Festival, Umbria Jazz and Sagra Musicale Umbra, or for visiting the most important museums and galleries of Umbria.
The Fonnaia Bridge, built during the age of Augustus, one of the best preserved roman bridges of central Italy, is located along the stretch of the ancient Via Flaminia that leads to the property.
