We own a spacious 4-5 bedroom luxury villa with 2 guesthouses/apartments on a 1-acre (4100 square meters) plot of land in a well-know residential community set among the green, forested hills just outside Sosua on the north coast of the Dominican Republic.

This spacious and affordable master bedroom with private bath (with bath tub) accommodates up to 2 guests for short- and long-term rent.

We offer travelers an affordable, spacious and well-appointed master bedroom with private bath (with bathtub) that accommodates up to 2 guests. The room is comfortably furnished and comes with a king-sized bed, ceiling fan and ample closet space. Cable TV with international channels and Wi-Fi Internet access are included free of charge.

Our large veranda offers beautiful views of sunrises, sunsets and the forested landscape sloping down to the Caribbean coast. Built into the huge veranda is a 13-meter swimming pool. It also includes a barbecue and bar area, as well as some exercise equipment.

We try to be as independent and self-sustaining as possible. We produce our own electricity with solar panels during the day, storing energy in a batter bank for use at night. Nearly all our hot water needs are met by an efficient solar water heater.

The Dominican Republic offers lots of sunshine, which compensates for at-time unreliable supply of utility power. By using solar PV panels, batteries and solar water heaters we not only help protect the natural environment, but we are able to more reliably meet our daily electricity needs.

Our guests have access to our whole property and all amenities.

People love to sit outside, use one of the covered terraces – one at the front, as well as the large veranda at the rear. On the rear veranda, we also have a lounge area and a dining table that seats as many as 10 people.

Of course, our guests are free to use our gym equipment, or just hang-out and sunbathe around the large large huge pool, or relax in the garden, which is filled with tropical plants and flowers.

If you come with a vehicle, we have plenty of parking space.

As an optional service, you can order breakfast and/or a delicious 'a la carte' meal from our private chef (Altagracia).

We do our best to interact with guests as much, or as little, as they would like. Our spacious rooms with private baths are a beautiful and quiet, yet still affordable, solution for guests that want to stay in a tranquil location in beautiful surroundings, but still within easy reach of public beaches and the town center.

Our villa is nestled on a quiet country road in a well-known residential area populated primarily by expats. There are a few small restaurants and 'colmados' – mini-markets within walking distance where you can pick up the necessities, as well as sit and have a bite to eat and drink and soak up some of the local color.

Sosua is a small, but busy town where you will find supermarkets, banks and plenty of restaurants serving local and international food and drinks. Last but not least, you'll find a series of beautiful white sandy beaches, including the main beach between Sosua Los Charamicos and Sosua El Batey, which is filled with souvenir shops and the workshops of local artists, as well as bars and restaurants. You can rent a sun-chair or just eat a delicious local meal of fresh fish right on the beach.

Sosua's town center is a couple or few kilometers (~1,5 - 2 miles) away from our villa. Renting car or scooter would make local travel more convenient, but it is by no means essential. Motoconcho (small motorcycle or scooter) drivers are easy to pick up on the roads leading to and from town and typically cost around 50pesos (~$1.00) each way.

The main road, the town center and beaches are still in a walking distance (about 20min. to 40min.), but of course you can also call a taxi or just jump on a 'Motoconcho' - a motorbike taxi. They get you there in 5 minutes...
The town and beaches of CABARETE are world famous for Wind- and Kite-Surfing and only about 15km, 9,4 miles or 10-15 driving minutes away.
There is always a nice ambiance especially in night time when having dinner under palm trees on the beach or party and dance to local and international rhythms in one of the beach bars.

Getting around

Gregorio Luperón International Airport, also known as Puerto Plata Airport (POP), is located about 6 kms (~ 3.75 miles) west of Sosua on the main coastal road. From or to the airport you can take a taxi.

Cheaper public transportation is only available on the main road outside the airport area. When arriving to Sosua by bus, you can take also a taxi or motoconcho, depending on how much luggage you have.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. We have found that it is much better that both sides have as clear and comprehensive understanding of what we offer prior to booking or arrival.

Rooms are cleaned and linens and towels changed once per week (every 7 days) free of charge. More frequent cleaning or changing, as well as personal maid service, can be arranged for a mutually agreed upon additional fee. Laundry service is also available on request for an additional charge.
Guests can use our kitchen to cook for themselves, but we expect them to clean up after themselves promptly. Depending on usage, we ask a fair participation fee be paid to cover the cost of gas, drinking water, cleaning liquid, etc. (about US$2-3/day).
