2 Bedrooms with Sauna in Dunbar

The Secret Garden is a serene retreat nestled in gorgeous gardens in the historic, upscale neighbourhood of Dunbar-Southlands. Centrally located to downtown and all of the great west side attractions, our beautiful two-bedroom apartment is bright, quiet, spacious and close to the best of everything Vancouver has to offer!

Our neighbourhood is very quiet, safe, and convenient. The Secret Garden is on a treed street half a block from Dunbar Village. In the village are restaurants, bars, liquor store, a movie theatre, Starbucks, Mac's convenience store, Shoppers Drug Mart, small shops, beauty salons and a medical clinic. A large supermarket with a great deli is half a block away - very convenient for making meals in the apartment.

Families with children will enjoy the Dunbar Community Centre, one block away, which has a great playground, tennis courts, and picnic area.

The five west side beaches are a five-minute drive or short bus ride down the hill. Also nearby are The University of British Columbia, St. George's Private School, the Museum of Anthropology and several public golf courses. A few blocks east is the entrance to Pacific Spirit Park where you can walk for hours on beautiful trails in old-growth forest. A ten-minute drive or 25-minute bus ride takes you to the heart of downtown Vancouver. We are 25 minutes from the Vancouver International Airport.

Granville Island, Queen Elizabeth Park, VanDusen Gardens, Commercial Drive, South Granville, Main Street and UBC's botanical gardens are some of the attractions you won't want to miss on our side of town.

Our large, bright and well-appointed apartment occupies the ground level of the house. Just outside the separate entrance is a private patio and the tropical back garden.

There are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a double - (both have closets and windows that look out onto flower beds).

The kitchen/dining area has seating for six. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for cooking at home and has dishes and cutlery for six. The fridge, stove and microwave are full size.

The bright living room has a gas fireplace, big comfy couch and extra seating. The windows are large and look out onto gardens and the private patio. There is free internet, tv with hundreds of channels and music and radio stations, and recorded movies as well as books and games for kids.

The gorgeous bathroom has a walk-in shower, granite countertop, and storage cupboard. The private sauna is entered from the bathroom.

There is a washer and dryer (convenient for travelling with kids!) and lots of free street parking right outside the house.

For families with small children we offer a full-size crib and an extra single bed ($10.00/night each). There is no charge for the high chair or the small stroller.

Our gorgeous rock-walled tropical garden is quiet and totally private. It features a large stone deck, lush vegetation, a fountain and landscape lighting for memorable evenings. Children especially enjoy feeding the birds and watching the squirrels. The front garden has a delightful little stone patio surrounded by beautiful trees and shrubs. Our gardens are featured annually in the “Dunbar in Bloom” garden tour in May.
