The fascinating town of Split is only 35 minutes away and is full of restaurants, bars and cafes; you can also enjoy exploring the old city, Diocletian's Palace and other monuments. There are also regular ferries to the islands of Brac, Hvar and Vis to which you can easily make day trips.
