Rental Details
The Space
This is a 3 bedroom apartment. Myself and my partner we share one of the rooms and you will use the Spacious Master bedroom with a private washroom/bathroom,
Guest Access
You have access to your own bedroom and your own washroom. You will share the living room and kitchen space with my partner and I. We are very open and flexible. You can access any of the kitchen appliances to make your own food if you wish, but leave kitchen clean.
Interaction with Guests
We are both able to help you and take you out and show you around after 6:00 pm as we both work. Weekends we are free and are more than happy to hangout and help you purchase arts and crafts and ethnic goodies, travel plans to Zanzibar and Safari tours and helping organize flights in East Africa and within Tanzania.
The Neighborhood
We live in a high end community but centrally located amongst the locals. There are many local bars and pub around 20 minute walk or in bajaj (local vehicle) for less than $5 it will take 5 minutes to get to. We live about 5 min in vehicle from popular beaches.
Please be mindful and always aware of your personal belonging especially if you will walk around with a purse or back pack. There is a high crime rate in Dar es Salaam. I just want everyone to be safe.
Getting Around
You may rent a car, or take a Bajaj locally for not more than $5 or a Dala dala bus for under $1 or a local taxi for around $10. It all depends on where you want to go but we can help you with that once you arrive.
Other Things to Note
Please note that there are power and water outages in Dar es Salaam and at times power and water will shut down everywhere. It is important that you are able to adapt and embrace it all. It is always helpful for you to bring your own flashlight or head lamp when traveling to Africa.
When using power/ light in the house please make sure to turn everything off as the power is run by a pre-paid meter. So if we leave power on it could run out and everything will shut down and everything in the fridge could go bad as well. The power company is not open late so just please be mindful to turn off all power and lights if you are not needing it. We understand during the hot season we need A/C but please make sure to turn the red switch off when not in use.
We can help arrange for taxi airport pick up and drop off at 40,000 TSH one way.
