Gemma's House
This house tells a story…..

It’s origin are ancients as you can see from the architrave dated 1500 dc

The Isola dei Pescatori history, as we know from old local books, date back from the Middle Age

In the early twentieth century, the house was owned by a family of fishermen. The owner had married a girl got to the Island to work as waitress in a restaurant.

The couple had a daughter named Gemma.

The house narrates years of hard life for the fisherman’s family, they were leaving at night with their rowing boats and sailed the lake up to Switzerland where they cast the nets and came back before dawn to sell the fish in the market.

Inside the “ Cristina Apartament” we find photos of the past, furnishings wooden fish-shaped, copper pots, wooden ceilings and exposed beams to remind old traditions.

The renovations, completed a couple of years ago, have preserved the ancient glamour

The story continues ... the little Gemma grows, she meet a man and she fall in love. After the marriage she and her husband leave for Africa, where they live for about 50 years;

In those years, they visit Africa and the memories acquired during those trips are allocated in the house.

The “apartment Gemma “ is made of memories of Africa and of local history, and the current owner is Gemma's son.

The house is on two levels:
On the ground floor: a small bedroom and a bathroom
On the first floor: living area with kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom.
From the living room and the master bedroom there overlooking a terrace from which you can admire a spectacular Lake's view .
