Modest mini apartment in an artists's studio, on a spectacular mesa above the famous Plaza Blanca, in Abiquiu, New Mexico, one hour Northwest of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The painter, Georgia O'Keeffe lived for years in the village of Abiquiu, and painted many remarkable landscapes of this magical place. From the abundant ancient Indian ruins, to Ghost Ranch, The Monastery in the Desert, Dar Al Islam Mosque, one can drive and hike through the desert colors of ochre, red, and white stone formations, that reveal vast geological time frames.
There is a rich history of pueblo indians and Spanish culture, mixed with people who come to live here from all over the world. The western landscape of Abiquiu and the surrounding area provides the backdrop to countless major movies. (At this time there are two being shot here.)
This is only some of the remarkable features of Abiquiu. There is so much more! The small apartment has:one (temperpedic) queen bed, can accomedate up to two people, a shower in the bathroom,small kitchen with stove and refrigerator and a patio to relax in, after exploring the desert. New Mexico is the Land of Enchantment. We will make your stay unforgetable, within a budget! We will provide morning rolls and coffee/tea and a welcome snack, but you will want to bring groceries if you are staying a while.
