Take a cool refreshing dip in the cascading pool and watch a moonrise in the evening from the warm jacuzzi nestled amongst the volcanic rocks.

Your complete kitchen has all the necessities to cook up a storm or make a fresh batch of lemonade from freshly picked citrus. Slow cook a stew while you drive the back mountain trail to visit the neighboring community of El Valle de Anton for the artisans' and farmers' market to see the local crafts and stock up on fresh produce.

Abundant restaurants of all varieties within a 30-minute drive. Since this is a charming mountain getaway, you will need a vehicle, preferably a 4x4 but not essential. The free community gym is 5 minutes away, and yoga classes run 5 days a week in the same activity center for a nominal fee. You can even schedule an in-home massage while you are lulled by the sounds of birds and the rushing river nearby.

For the hiking enthusiasts, you will enjoy miles of well-maintained hiking trails and swinging bridges across the river. Bring your hiking boots and insect repellent.

There are resident cats who roam the grounds, so you must like cats coming and going and lazing around the rancho.

Casa Shangri-la is located 90 minutes from Panama City and 30 minutes from the beaches. You will love the cooler days and nights in the mountains, 10-15 degrees cooler. Panama also boasts 30-day free tourist medical insurance with top level coverage in the case of an emergency, so be sure and pick up your tourist card when you arrive at the airport.

Since there are resident cats, no guest pets are allowed.

There is an adjacent free-standing guest casita used by the host, who will get you settled in and answer your questions.

The only downside to your tropical vacation retreat is the day you have to leave. But, you will leave refreshed, rested, and excited about returning again.

This property is completely SAFE and SECURE. Although there has NEVER been an incident or problem, with security bars, an alarm system and completely fenced, you will have total peace of mind.
