Fantastic Roof Terrace Apartment

We've got a beautiful top floor flat in Spain so close to the Mediterranean sea that you could literally throw a stone into it from the rather generous roof terrace, which enjoys 360 degree views of the sea in front and of the beautiful mountains of the Cabo Tinoso nature reserve behind.

Its also benefits from being west facing which means you are basked in glorious sunshine all day and enjoy a beautiful sunset over the ocean in the evenings. Sundowners on the roof terrace anyone? And once the sun is down, look behind you and you can watch the moon rising slowly over the mountains.

The penthouse itself is a modern, brand new build, with high quality finishes. It is fully furnished and enjoys a modern kitchen with all the white goods you would need including oven, stove, washing machine, microwave oven, toaster and kettle. There is a TV with local and British channels, even though you won't watch it much because the sunsets are much better entertainment! There is a smaller balcony, good for breakfast and things like that and the previously mentioned roof terrace up the stairs which is the size of the entire apartment.

The main bedroom has a double bed and air conditioning. The 2nd bedroom has two single beds that can be pushed together. There is also a sleeper couch in the lounge area which is also air conditioned.

The penthouse is in the quiet, authentically Spanish fishing village of La Azohia at the end of Mazarron Bay in Murcia, famous for being one of the hottest areas of Spain and boasting 300 days of sunshine a year. The flat is also about 45 mins from Murcia airport, door to door. Definitely worth renting a car to explore the area!

La Azohia enjoys a handful of top quality bars and restaurants so there is always something good to eat and drink. Rockola is a bar on the beach that only opens in the summer but is literally right outside the front of the flat, talk about location! There is also a pretty well stocked supermarket a 5 minute walk away, just be aware of the siesta closing times, which they take very seriously in this part of Spain!

Peurto de Mazarron is a bigger town a simple 15 minute drive away and this is a good place to get to the bigger supermarkets to do a big shop if you need to. It also boasts blue flag beaches and a recently revamped marina, packed with great restaurants and bars and lots of fun and play areas for the kids.

Beaches:
As mentioned, there are a few really good blue flag beaches in the port but closer to home, the beach right outside the apartment is pebble and not great for swimming in. But just on the corner, 200 metres away is a swimmable beach. The beach we use the most is a 5 minute walk away which is quite small so it feels like your own private beach and is a proper sand beach with a gentle slope into the water making it safe for kids and badly swimming adults! Another 5 minutes of walking and you are at the St Gines beach which is much bigger and wider and you can rent pedal boats and things like that in the Summer.

The area is also quite famous for snorkelling and scuba diving and there are 3 dive centres in La Azohia, one two doors down from the apartment. Apparently there are a few shipwrecks and the water is really clear.

Back in the the port, you can also do boat trips to go on snorkeling safaris or go see some dolphins.
