From your terrace and panoramic swimming pool you can look out over the forest of Vallombrosa. Your apartment is the perfect starting point for hikes through the wooded area. Do visit Vallombrosa abbey, founded in 1036. If you drive into the Casentino valley, you'll find the village of Poppi (25 km). The characteristic narrow streets lead to the castle on the top. There also is a zoo in Poppi. Bakery and grocery store in Paterno (1.5 km). Supermarket in Pontassieve (7 km). Post office and bank in Pelago (5 km). Specialty restaurant in Carbonile (3 km). Your holiday address is located 30 km from Florence. The train connection from S.Ellero (3 km) is perfect; within 30 minutes you're in the heart of Florence, cultural city par excellence. From the same train station you can also reach Arezzo (60 km) within 40 minutes.
