The House of Queira Deus is located in the region of Recife, in the county of São Lourenço da Mata. Only 15 minutes (13km) away from the Arena Pernambuco stadium, and 30 minutes (30 km) away from the center of Recife.
The Engenho Queira Deus offers the unique atmosphere of a traditional Sugar Mill, very well preserved and compleatly integrated in a natural environment. It is currently orientated towards rural, ecologic and adventurous tourism.
You can enjoy your leisure time doing many activities including horse riding,trekking through the Rainforest and you will also have access to the barrage lake on the river that runs through the farm. Just outside your door you can admire the breath taking scenery that surrounds the Engenho, from the Rainforest and the sugar cane fields to the water view of the barrage lake.
It is among three historical "Engenhos" that played a big part in the cane harvesting and sugar production during the XIXth century. The first known reference of this area dates back to 1655.
