The ARThouse on the River

Welcome! The ARThouse on the River offers scenic views and all the added comforts of home. Plus one of a kind ART to live with and enjoy! Sleeps up to eight, six comfortably. We are confident our space will both rest you as well as inspire! Serene, discreet and eclectic!

Nestled on the banks of the scenic Maumee River is a 1700 sq ft private “live – in” gallery located in the greater Toledo area (between Waterville and Grand Rapids near historic Nazareth Hall).

It is the ideal getaway:

• Artist’s one of a kind, life-affirming pieces curated throughout the space

• Cycling up and down St. Rt. 65 Scenic Byway

• Fish in our world famous seasonal Walleye Runs

• Kayak on a spectacular stretch of the Maumee River!

Defiance, Maumee, Rossford, Perrysburg, Bowling Green and Toledo all at easy and speedy access!

Check In 2PM/ Check Out 11AM.
We are flexible with these times unless there are reservations booked for that same day.  Kindly let us know in advance of your departure time if it will be after 11AM.

Comprehensive 3 bedroom sleeping arrangement:
1 to 2 Persons = Master Bedroom (river view) New wood floors, new King-size ultra plush bed, radio alarm clock, full desk workspace, iron, and two robes for your use.

3 to 4 Persons = Second Bedroom
New wood floors, new Queen-size memory gel platform bed.

5 to 6 Persons = Third Bedroom (river view)
New wood floors, new Queen-size memory gel bed

7 to 8 Persons = 2 Queen size Coleman Air Beds including linens/pillows.

Master Bedroom has adjoining Master Bath: 2 sinks, shower, large corner 54 x54 bathtub with towels, soaps, basic toiletries, blow-dryer, first aid kit.

Second and Third Bedrooms have adjacent full bath including towels, soaps, basic toiletries.

Sunroom has wood floors, unbeatable unobstructed 14 window view of the river (glimpses of a bald eagle family right from your seat), upright piano, stereo/speakers!

Living Room has wood floors, 42” wireless HDTV (includes cable and Netflix), DVD player, gas fireplace.

Fully equipped kitchen available for guests to cook and eat:
Microwave, Keurig, regular coffee maker (filters, coffee, specialty teas provided), 4 slice toaster, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, gas stove, utensils, towels, cookware. Refrigerator stocked with basic (and surprising) delights.

Spacious parking...even drive up to within 5 feet of the front door!

GUESTS PLEASE NOTE:
Read the "house rules" below carefully and also the additional guidance we have provided in that section for our mutual understanding and benefit. We wish to keep the "process" of enjoying our and your ARThouse simple, serene and worthwhile.

We may allow access to the Maumee River via the property on a select, supervised, case by case basis. But in general, and strictly so, no river access is permissible. This is for the protection of the guests and our peace of mind. Trust us, the Maumee River is one dangerous lady. If you do not know the holes, the rapids and the undertow currents, you can be swept away in a flash. And this has happened before on this river many times : (

We also wish to make it crystal clear (in case it is not already evident in our name "ARThouse" : ) that there IS a fully functional residential art studio downstairs where we live at times, have business meetings, entertain our own valued guests and yes, ART HAPPENS THERE. We come and go at our pleasure and choosing to keep an eye out, ensure supervision, protection and safety. This should be self-evident and well understood within our mutual agreement.
