Rental Details
We’re located at Tapeka Point at the entrance to the world famous Bay of Islands. Tapeka Point is approximately three hours’ drive from Auckland and just two kilometres from the historic village of Russell. Before the Europeans settled in New Zealand the area was a Maori Pa (fortification) but these days we call it home and invite you to stay at our beautiful beachfront property.
Tapeka boasts two beaches ideal for fishing, swimming and other water sports It has a boat ramp for launching boats. Watch passing Orcha whales if you are lucky or swim with the wild Dolphins off the beach. Nearby is Kauri Cliffs, Waitangi, Kerikeri and other world class golf courses. Visit the famous “Hole in the Rock” at Cape Brett, a popular way to view the Islands of the Bay, take a day sail or sit back, relax and watch the endless parade of boats passing by. There’s also an abundance of great walking tracks in the area and it’s the perfect base from which to explore Northland.

Stay in one of our three apartments. At Kokomo Retreat we are child and dog friendly. Enjoy the use of our kayaks or relax and watch the sun go down from the spa.
The Pacifica Apartment is one of our new luxury apartments. It is1-bedroom with a lounge/kitchenette and an ensuite bathroom.
*Note: the Pacifica Apartment and the Pohutakawa Apartment have an inter-connecting door that can be locked off for individual rent or can be opened to convert to a 2-bedroom apartment.
