Momiji-ya Main Building Takao-Sanso

30 minutes by car from Kyoto station. The view from the open-air bath is amazing. This is a brilliant ryokan (Japanese-style hotel) with cherry-blossoms and wild azalea in the spring, firefly viewing on a cool-summer's evening, autumn's red leaves and in winter, snow can be seen whilst enjoying the pot-dishes. This ryokan offers plans without dinner, but asks guests to be aware that because of its remote location deep in the mountains, there are no restaurants in the surrounding area. The ryokan can later accept separate requests for meals; however initially booking the plan including breakfast and dinner is recommended as it is a better value.
