BETTE'S RETREAT a perfect getaway!!

At 25 euros/night Bette's Retreat is a bargain. Included is Wi-Fi , Satellite T.V. , linens, and all self-catering amenities. The apartment is a new 2012 construction with a comfortable double bed, designed for peace and tranquility. There is also a lovely sun-deck available and barbeque.

We are situated in the deep verdant forests of Central Portugal, a few minutes from Penacova. Penacova is situated on the Rio Mondego and provides you with a wealth of restaurants and a free internet access at the library. Also if you decide on a forest hike just step out of your front door.

Liz and I also have two bikes you can rent, to zeek around to our local market with attached butcher shop, pool hall and bar with a big screen for sport matches. Just 2 minutes up the road.

We live off of our land here always have fresh range eggs from our happy hens and loads of vegies. We can make arrangements to pick you up at Coimbra train station, which has links to both Lisbon and Porto airports.Bette's Retreat is a comfortable attached apartment converted from a wine cellar. The retreat has two medium size rooms; a bedroom with double bed and desk...and the other a complete kitchenette/ lounge entertainment area. The shared shower room is a few steps away on same floor.

The lounge has a satellite TV and Wi-Fi connection. Hot & cold running water in kitchenette - with all towels cuttlery etc. provided free. Also included a mini-fridge, two hob cooker. There is also a small dining area. Our sun deck is available, and you're welcome to tour our organic fruit, flower and vegie garden

Shower/toilet room is brand new. There is a clothes washing facility for a small charge. We have a library of books at your disposal. The satellite TV receives English speaking channels, sport & entertainment.

NO SMOKING IS ALLOWED INSIDE, NO CHILDREN. NO WHEELCHAIR ACCESS. There is an indoor swimming pool five minutes away in Penacova along with restaurants, banks and post office. Also on site is a BOWEN THERAPIST...a health treatment for dozens of ailments, at 30 euros per session.

LOCATION INFORMATION

We are located one hour from Porto airport or one hour 40 minutes from Lisbon. We are nestled in the foothills 15 mins from Coimbra and 40 minutes from the Silver Coast beaches. Our village Golpilhal has a butcher shop, market, bar with pool-hall; all within walking distance. Available are two bicycles for hire. The River Mondego is 10 minutes away offering 16 km kayaking trips in season only. There is a lot to sight-see, monasteries, Roman ruins.

DIRECTIONS

It is best to either rent a car from the airport or take a train to Coimbra. We will arrange Coimbra train station pick-up for 10 euros. There are car rentals in Coimbra City as well. If you drive from airports be sure to take your toll road tickets at booth..or there is a heavy fine. Public transport is slow and intermittant. We are located off of the IP3 at Figueira de Lorvao turn off. Best to call us after turning off for detailed directions or help
