The Quintessence of the Old Town #3

Mariacka street – charming, colourful, few-storey tenement houses painted with many colours, romantic shops and galleries with jewellery and amber. Here every couple will have a successful photo session in the beautiful scenery - neat house facades, reliefs, cobblestones and Gdansk gargoyles in the shape of animal heads, dragons and mascarons. Nearby is located the St. Mary's Church – the largest brick temple in Europe which is 105 metres high and its vaults reach up to 33 metres. It is also worth to enter (holding your hands) the tower that is 77,6 metres high. It takes almost 400 steps to get there! From the view gallery you will see the view like in childrens' dreams about a fabulous city with narrow, paved streets, red tiled roofs and towers of churches of which from time to time you hear the sound of bells.
